MASTERSHIP (1) was well fancied when resuming but found one better at Turffontein Standside, finishing 2 lengths adrift at the end of 7f. Looks well placed stepping out in trip. Winning chance. SAKURAJIMA (11) did a fair job on debut last time out, finishing 5.5 lengths from the winner in second over 7¼f at this track. Open to improvement and looks a serious contender. DECEPTION PASS (2) is a three-start maiden who finished fourth, beaten 1.75 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 1m1/2f at Vaal. Has a high cruising speed. Should be involved in the finish. BREATH OF MAGIC (4) is a 23-start maiden who was in the placings at his last two starts, finishing third at the latest appearance over 1m at Vaal. Drawn to go forward. Must be respected.
