EMILY SMILES (1) improved last time out, finishing 4 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 5½f at this track after being in contention on the turn. Looks well placed so expect another big run. PACIFIC ZIP (6) lines up for the first time since January 19. Looking to emulate her win at Golden Gate Fields to kick off the last campaign. Now under the care of new trainer Jose Jr Silva. Rates highly and should take some beating. MINEDANDREFINED (2) drifted well back last start before storming home to score by 1.3 lengths over 5½f at this track (Dirt). Will spot a start but wind up late and is among the chances again. COCKTAIL SLIPPERS (3) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6f at this track, beaten 10 lengths into seventh. Better than recent efforts suggest.
