CASTILE (5) was a winner last time over 1m at this track and re-unites with Chris Whiteley who steered on that occasion. Significant weight drop this time so he is among the leading chances again. ARMOUR FORCE (3) finished just under two lengths back from the winner last start at Cairns on a soft ground and is down in weight this time. Backmarker who keeps coming. Will prove hard to hold out. SPEED LEGEND (1) scored by 1.2 lengths over this distance at this track last time out. Excellent record here having never missed the placings in five starts, including four wins and one placing. Shapes as one to consider. PRINCE AKEEM (9) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7½f at Rockhampton, beaten 4.5 lengths into ninth. Better than recent efforts suggest.
