VECCHI (2) resumed from a lay-off last start with a sound third over 5½f at this track (Dirt) after being prominent at the turn. Suitably placed to crack the maiden win. BUMPKIN (6) has been racing well and is close to a win, the latest effort a solid third at this track (Dirt) over 1m1/4f. Can measure up again. VERNON'S BEST (3) could only manage to finish eighth, beaten 23 lengths, at his latest appearance over 1m1/4f at this track (Dirt). Should be about the money.
