WOLLOMBI (13) Group 3 winner. Steps up in trip after scoring last time by a long neck over 6f in the LR Gai Waterhouse Classic at Ipswich on June 22. Gets some weight relief this time so she is a leading contender again. Group 3 winner THE INEVITABLE (1) finished fourth in the G1 Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm over this distance last time out. Has a strong record at this trip, scoring six times from 11 starts. Best form puts him right in this. WATEGOS (8) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when third over 6¾f in the LR Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich after being in the firing line all the way. Meets some better types this time but another big run is on the cards. Group 3 winner EN FRANCAIS (6) drifted back from her wide draw last start then hit the line hard to score by 1.4 lengths in the G3 The Cummings Stakes at Morphettville over 1m. Will find this a little easier than last start. Too good to ignore.
