BOSSA NOVA LAD (2) went forward last start over 1m2f at Cranbourne and held on well for third, beaten 2.25 lengths. Faces an easier assignment so he is one of the main contenders. CHARLESFORT (10) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with just two wins from 27 starts. Did a good job last start to finish third over 7½f at Port Augusta, beaten 4 lengths. Taking on a better line-up this time but he has the ability to mix it with them. ESKY (4) travelled in a rearwards position then picked up fairly well in the straight and finished 6 lengths away in sixth last time out over 1m1/2f at Gawler when resuming from a lay-off as 3/1 favourite. Tackles a longer journey this time. Among the chances. FORTIS IN ARMIS (1) comes back in class after finishing 4.5 lengths away in eighth over 1m1f at Morphettville two weeks ago. Likely improver.
