FORMBY (6) was no match for a smart winner over 6f at Newcastle. That was still a promising effort and may do better now switching to handicaps. Looks well-treated off this opening mark. Preferred. PRINCE OF BEL LIR (5) holds solid claims on the back of a good second-place finish off a 3lb lower rating at Wolverhampton. WILLOLARUPI (3) is consistent around this grade. Interesting having shaped as though the step up to 6f would suit when a keeping-on third at Pontefract (soft) last start. Newcastle runner-up CARLTON AND CO (7) makes for each-way appeal once more.
