SHROPSHIRE LAD (5) was well supported on debut last start and turned in a strong effort to finish second over 4½f at Newcastle. Sure to improve and can get off the mark this time. ESCALANTE (1) hasn't raced since finishing seventh at Randwick Kensington and has placed in two trials leading into return. Rates a leading prospect. THURSAIN (14) raced once in the maiden campaign when fourth at this track over 6f back on July 2. Should be thereabouts. WITHSTAND (6) was in the firing line on the corner and finished third last time over 5f at Tamworth when resuming from a lay-off, beaten 0.7 lengths. Nicely placed to take this out.
