Group 1 winner MYSTERIOUS NIGHT (2) sat just off the speed and fought on well to finish second when resuming last start at this course and distance. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position. Expected to be in the finish. Multiple Group 3 placegetter TALK OF THE NATION (4) was handy on straightening and went on to finish third last start over 1m in the G3 Poker Stakes at this track (Turf), beaten 1.1 lengths. Tackling a more suitable race so he is a major player. Group 2 winner CARL SPACKLER (5) ran well below his best last time over 1m in the G3 Poker Stakes at this track (Turf), beaten 2.75 lengths into fifth at 7/4. Tyler Gaffalione who has scored on him three times retains the mount. Has winning claims on best figures. Group 1 placegetter REPO ROCKS (6) settled well back and was disappointing over 6½f at Aqueduct (Dirt) last time out when in the market. That followed a good third the run before. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is right in contention.
