CANANI (4) is a two-start maiden who finished fourth, beaten 6 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6½f at this track (Dirt). Improvement to come and this is his chance to break through. DESERT ROCKET (2) made progress last time out, finishing 2.25 lengths from the winner in second at the end of 5f at Del Mar. Must raise the bar but this looks well within his grasp. FIGHT BACK (6) returns after 11 weeks in the paddock. Closed the last campaign with a fourth over 1m1f at this track (Turf). Nicely placed and can get off the mark. TOPPERS WAGER (3) ran below expectations last time at Los Alamitos (Dirt), finishing seventh and beaten 17 lengths. Should be in the mix in this suitable race.
