NEW SOVEREIGN (3) went forward last start over 7f at this track and held on well for second, beaten 2.25 lengths. Perfectly placed and is sure to give this a mighty shake. LITTLE JACK (2) ran on strongly but just failed to pick up the winner as favourite last start over 1m at Pakenham. Has race fitness on his side now. This is the right race and he can go one better. GAWNSKI (4) did little and finished 10 lengths from the winner in eighth over 1m2f at Flemington last start, a less impressive effort than his sixth at Caulfield the run before. Will enjoy a drop in class so he will be hard to beat. FUNNYIFITWON (1) was far from disgraced when fourth last start over 1m at Bendigo. That followed a win at Bendigo the start prior. Expect a better run this time.
