MASTER MONTARO (1) made progress last start to finish third over 5½f at Flemington after being in the firing line on the turn. Finds a suitable assignment and can get the job done. BLOW IN (2) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 7f at Bendigo, beaten 5 lengths into ninth. Finds the right race this time and can get the job done. IMPENDING LINK (5) finished fourth when resuming two runs back then progressed nicely last time out after being prominent at the turn to score by half a length as favourite over 7f at Pakenham. Likely to be there at the finish again. MAGICAL LAND (3) finished third last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 6½f at Cranbourne when he made late ground, beaten 1.5 lengths. Nicely placed to play a major role.
