Fitter so expect a better run this time. BITTER SPIRIT (2) closed last prep with a fifth over 6f at this track on April 22. Worth noting that he opened the last campaign with a minor placing at this track over 5½f. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. Will play a major role. AUGUST JOE (1) is a three-year-old gelding by Carrara out of Sunset Dancer on debut for the Laurie Clem stable. Looks forward enough following a Rockhampton trial win. Worth watching for any market push. PRECISE TORQUE (7) is back after a break of six months. At the last run before the layoff he finished eighth over 5½f at Mackay. Looks up to the mark following a trial win at Sunshine Coast Inner Track. Has ability and must be included in calculations.
