Group 3 winner KING OF SPARTA (1) gave away a start then stormed home to win over 6f at Gold Coast last time out. Will find this much tougher but he is expected to run well. Multiple Group 1 placegetter BUENOS NOCHES (4) is having his first run since November 11. Goes very well when fresh with two wins from three starts, the latest over 6f at this track at the start of last prep. Placed in a recent trial. Should be prominent. Group 2 placegetter MALKOVICH (6) has registered two minor placings from three runs this campaign. Continued the trend last time out when third over 6f in the G3 Southern Cross Stakes at Rosehill after he was always up in the leading division. Finds a tougher race but another big run will not surprise. Group 3 placegetter COAL CRUSHER (2) is back at the races for the first time since November 18. Worth noting he filled a minor placing when returning from a lay-off last prep over 5f at Warwick Farm. Worth plenty of thought.
