MY MATE KATE (6) improved sharply on her 12th two starts back at Rosehill with success over 6f at Tamworth six weeks ago, getting home by one length after being prominent at the corner. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role again. SMART ROOSTAR (1) missed the frame when resuming last start over 5½f at Dubbo but wasn't all that far from the winner. Solid top-three chance. INVINCIBLE FAITH (9) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race last time out, finishing fourth and beaten only 1.75 lengths over 5½f at Armidale. Must raise the bar but he has the talent to test this line-up. SIMPLY BETTER (7) was beaten 1.4 lengths into fourth over 5f at Orange last time out. Worth noting Shayleigh Ingelse goes aboard. Better than recent efforts suggest.
