ELMER JOHN (4) has started twice, missing the frame on debut then doing a better job to finish second last time, beaten 2 lengths over 5f at this track (Dirt). Should settle up near the speed. Heading in the right direction and looks the one to beat. CANTILEVER (5) showed little early speed then came with a powerful run to finish third last time out over 1m at Golden Gate Fields (Synthetic). Will drift back but is expected to be in the finish again. BESKAR (1) resumes from a lay-off of three-and-a-half months and is having his first outing under new trainer Samuel Calvario. Finished fifth at Santa Anita (Dirt) over 6f at the opening run last time in work. Can measure up at the first run for a new barn. FRANK THE CAT (7) finished midfield last start on debut over 5½f at Golden Gate Fields (Synthetic), beaten 6 lengths when well supported. Better for that outing and is expected to run well.
