WEEKEND LOVER (6) was prominent from the outset and fought on for second last start over 1m4 1/4f at Mornington, making it two minor placings in a row. Looks well placed this line-up so expect another big run. MARAMA (8) gets out over more ground. On the back of some solid form of late, the most recent effort a third over 1m2 1/2f at stony creek. Should camp just off the leaders. Sure to be in the finish. LARRYOCTANE (2) hit the frame two starts ago at Cranbourne but ran below par last time when tenth and beaten 5 lengths over 1m1 3/4f at Yarra Valley. Has his share of ability. Hard to beat in this suitable race. VAN GERWEN (5) missed the placings two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 1m3f at Hamilton, beaten only 1.75 lengths. Looks to be in the right race so another bold effort is on the cards.
