ROYAL INFANTRY (4) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then was never in contention last start when 7 lengths away in ninth over 1m3/4f at Sale. Likely improver with strong prospects. OLNEY (9) settled towards the tail then wound up strongly to finish 3.5 lengths away in second when resuming last start over 6f at Mornington. Strong effort last time and is worth following up. SHORT REPLY (12) put the writing on the wall last time when fourth at this track over 7f, beaten 2.75 lengths after being prominent at the turn. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. DARK SIMBA (8) ended up 6 lengths behind the winner in seventh on debut last start over 6½f at Bendigo. Open to plenty of improvement. One of the hopes.
