GANGITANO (3) was thereabouts last time out when second at Cranbourne over 7f, beaten a head. Should be at his peak now. Goes well at this journey with two wins and two placings from five starts and is expected to feature. ROADCONE (1) made a strong late bid only to just miss when when resuming as favourite last start over 6f at Benalla. Should tighten right up following that outing. This is a nice drop in grade so he is a major player. HOWDY (8) finished second last time over 6½f at Bendigo, beaten a long neck. Placed to advantage and can run a bold race. DESERT STAR (4) hit the frame two starts ago at Sale but ran below par last time when seventh and beaten 4 lengths over 7f at Cranbourne. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time.
