QUEEN BEIRA (6) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Ballarat Synthetic but couldn't back it up last start when seventh, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 1m at this track. Likely improver with strong prospects. READY TIGER (5) turned in a fine effort to win by 1.3 lengths at this track and distance last start in a much improved run. Has the ability to take this out. BABY ALEX (9) is on a 10-day back-up after finishing in the money over 7¾f at Geelong. Must contend with a wide draw but a bold showing is likely. ALBANIAN ICON (11) ran very well when resuming then sat on the pace before fading to finish tenth last time out over 7f at Seymour. Better placed this time and can feature.
