The David O'Meara trained DARKNESS (8) won his sole visit to the Newmarket July Course and could well make it two from two here. Now 8lb lower than last winning mark and shaped as though his turn was near when third at Goodwood (7f) eighteen days ago. BENACRE (4) did well to finish third over 1m1/2f at Nottingham and must be included back down in trip off the same rating. This represents a drop in class for top-weight ARABIAN STORM (1) who was by no means disgraced back in ninth attempting a competitive 7f handicap at Ascot in May. ARARAT (6) impressed winning at Newmarket (Rowley) last September and needs to be respected on return.
