EVERY EFFORT (8) showed good early dash and led for much of the way before weakening out of it when 5.5 lengths away in fifth over 1m3f at Newcastle. Generally performs well here and has registered three minor placings. Leading contender. SHADOW SHOT (4) finished second at Newcastle two runs back but was less effective last time over 1m2 1/2f at Orange, finishing 4 lengths back in seventh. Best figures measure up nicely. Sure to run well. KIKIKAPOW (1) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 0.9 lengths when fourth in a 1m3 1/2f contest at Newcastle two-and-a-half weeks ago. This doesn't look as hard so she is likely to play a big role. CRUX REBELLION (5) ran a better race last start, finishing 2.5 lengths away in fifth over 1m2 1/2f at Orange. Mitch Stapleford gets the best out of this four-year-old gelding. Likely improver with strong top-three prospects.
