OPEN PEARLY GATES (3) did a fair job on debut last time out, finishing a neck from the winner in second over 6½f at Dubbo. Improver who looks a major player. BONDING (7) showed good early muster and fought on to finish second when resuming last start over 6f87yards at this track. Nicely placed to figure in the outcome. EXCELLENT STRAAND (12) stepped out on his debut over 5f at Dubbo three weeks ago and finished fifth, beaten 2.5 lengths. Should be thereabouts. HOKU (2) is a 18-start maiden who finished fifth, beaten 1.5 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6f at Tamworth. Will derive great benefit from that outing and deserves consideration.
