MAPLEWAY (2) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 7f at Balaklava, beaten 2. 25 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. FLAMBARD (3) doesn't win out of turn, scoring just two times from 21 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when seventh over 1m at Balaklava, beaten 4. 5 lengths. Ben Price gets the best out of this five-year-old gelding. Placed to advantage and can make his presence felt. THE DAILY PLANET (7) travelled in a rearwards position then picked up fairly well in the straight and finished 3. 5 lengths away in sixth last time out over 6f at Murtoa when when resuming from a lay-off. Tackles a longer journey this time. Will find this a little tougher but should be competitive. GRINZINGER ACE (12) hit the frame two starts ago at Strathalbyn but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 8 lengths over 6¾f at Strathalbyn. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time.
