MONTJEUIFY (1) improved sharply on his tenth two starts back at Hamilton with success over 7½f at Geelong three-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by half a length after being in the firing line on the turn. Must raise the bar but another win beckons. BATTLE ROYALE (4) got home by just half a length at his latest appearance over 1m at this track. Gets some weight relief this time so he is right in contention. MAVETTE (5) showed good early muster and fought on to finish third last start over 7f at Murray Bridge. Looks well placed so expect another big run. POOL PONY (2) drifted well back last start before storming home to score by a nose over 7f at Murray Bridge. Can feature in the finish again.
