COSSACK WARRIOR (1) turned in a handy position before finishing third last start over 6½f at Gunnedah, beaten half a length. This doesn't look as hard so he is a leading contender. CHEVAL KHAN (5) progressed nicely last time out to finish just 1.4 lengths from the winner in second over 7f125yards at Coffs Harbour after being prominent at the corner. Well placed and there is no reason she cannot find winning ways. SPRUCE (7) is a six-start maiden who finished fifth at her most recent appearance over 6f at Toowoomba. Solid top-three chance on her best figures. DUBIOUS SIX (3) did little and finished 12 lengths from the winner in tenth over 6f at Tamworth last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth on debut at Armidale the run before. Won't find this as tough so he is likely to play a big role.
