RANUNCULUS (3) is still a maiden after nine starts. Could only manage to finish fifth last time out over 6f at this track (Dirt) following a minor placing at this track (Turf) over 5f the run prior. Won't get too many better chances to open his account. SPIRITINTHENIGHT (6) could only manage sixth when resuming two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 5f at this track, beaten only 1.3 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner. Finds a suitable race and can find the winner's circle. ISLAND SPIRIT (5) was in the money at this track (Dirt) when resuming two runs back then could only manage fourth at this track (Dirt) over 6f two weeks ago. Well placed here and among the winning hopes. J J VALENTIN (10) last raced just a week ago when tenth over 1m1/2f at this track (Turf). No surprise to see him back in form this time.
