ROC DE RUSSIAN (5) hasn't raced since finishing seventh over 1m at Stony Creek on January 18 and has since switched stables. Goes well when resuming from a lay-off, including two minor placings from four starts. Sure to run well. FLAMING HOMER (3) was in the money two starts back at Townsville but couldn't back it up last time when 11th, beaten 11 lengths, at Rockhampton over 6½f after being in contention on the corner. Finds a nice race and can bounce back. BOLD ZIP (11) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a lay-off on December 14 finishing sixth and beaten 4.5 lengths over 6f87yards at Bowen. One to consider. FLYING SHAMUS (4) was below her best last time when sixth over 6f at this track, beaten 4.5 lengths. Has her share of talent and can do a lot better.
