NORTHERN PRIDE (2) found the line nicely last start to get up for second over 6¼f at Cairns. Backmarker who gets home hard. Will prove tough to beat. MISHANI MYSTIQUE (10) missed the frame last time when fourth at Rockhampton. That followed a run of two wins on end. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. Will play a major role. OSCAR BRAVO (11) is a four-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Wayne Pomfrett yard. Finished off last campaign with a seventh at Pakenham Synthetic eight months ago. Not seen at the trials but looks well placed. Leading player expected to feature. RUBUNKAR (3) lifted strongly to get the prize by 1.5 lengths three runs back at this track before filling a minor placing at his last two starts. Record at this journey is impressive with two wins and three placings from six runs and is one of the better hopes.
