JOURNALISM (5) was in a different class last time, sitting just off the speed before letting down impressively for a 2.5 lengths win at Del Mar (Dirt) over 1m. MELLENCAMP (2) is a two-start maiden who placed on debut then could only manage fourth last start, beaten 6 lengths over 1m at Del Mar (Dirt). Has the speed to be prominent from this nice gate.
