BROADWAY UNIONS (2) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6½f at Del Mar, beaten 4.5 lengths. Tackling a more suitable race so he can make amends. BIG GAIN (3) looked good at his only appearance eight months ago over 7f at Santa Anita (Dirt), finishing second and beaten 2.75 lengths. Likely improver and is among the main hopes. WILD RECRUIT (6) returned from a lay-off three-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 17 lengths into seventh over 6½f at Del Mar. Enjoys a drop in grade so he can bounce back. JERRY'S SPIRIT (5) is returning from a lay-off of nine months. Finished seventh at Golden Gate Fields (Synthetic) over 6f at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer D Pederson.
