E Maldonado stays aboard and although yet to win has been in the money on two occasions. Leading contender. DO IT FOR DAVE (2) resumed last start over 5½f at Pleasanton (Dirt) and showed little early speed, settling well back but hitting the line hard to finish third, beaten 3 lengths. Will drift back but is expected to be in the finish again. THE BIG CHEESEOLA (8) finished 2.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 4f124yards at Los Alamitos Qh after being in the firing line on the bend a week ago. Steps up in distance. Has a strong record at this distance with a win and three minor placings from four starts and shapes as one to consider. POP D'ORO (9) returned from a lay-off two weeks ago when he was in the firing line on the turn before being beaten 4 lengths into fifth over 5½f at this track. Fitter so a likely improver.
