THUNDERHEART (4) started at 5/1 last time on the back of a win at Los Alamitos (Dirt) two starts ago but was below his best, finishing fifth over 4f124yards at this track (Dirt) after being prominent at the turn. Beautifully placed and is sure to take plenty of stopping. WHOA BUDDY (2) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 6 lengths when sixth over 6f at Santa Anita five weeks ago. Has a solid record at this course and distance, including two wins. Worth noting Edgar Payeras goes aboard. Finds an easier assignment and can take this out. MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING (3) finished sixth two runs back at this track (Dirt) then improved last time out to score by 2.5 lengths after being in contention on the bend over 4½f at this track (Dirt). Well placed and there is no reason it cannot repeat the dose. CITY OF CHAMPIONS (5) last appeared six weeks ago over 4½f at this track when he finished third. This is his first run for the Adan Farias stable.
