MERLIN BEACH (6) was having his first run for the Glenn Stevenson yard last start when he made steady ground to run into second over 5¾f at Devonport Synthetic at the first run back from a lay-off. One of the genuine hopes in the race. MANHATTAN NIGHTS (5) finished 3.5 lengths from the winner in fifth last start over 7f32yards at Hobart, an improvement on his seventh at this track the run before. Finds a nice race and can feature in the finish. NOODITY (2) produced another moderate effort last start when 9 lengths from the winner in 11th over 1m at this track. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
