XAPHAN (8) was a new acquisition for the Patrick & Michelle Payne yard last start when she made steady ground to run into third over 5f185yards at Wangaratta at the first run back from a lay-off. Expected to run well again. BEEN OUR ANGEL (3) scored in a at Swan Hill but was below his best last time when seventh over 5f at Murray Bridge after being in contention on the turn. Ideally placed and is sure to be there at the finish. TARZI CALLING (1) improved sharply on his sixth two starts back at Caulfield Heath with a win over 6f at Yarra Valley three-and-a-half weeks ago, getting home by a neck after being in contention on the bend. Looks well placed so expect another big run. CONTROVERSIAL MISS (10) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 5f185yards at Wangaratta, beaten 2.75 lengths. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time.
