TINKA'S LAD (3) hit the frame two starts ago at Kembla Grange but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 3 lengths over 6½f at Hawkesbury after being prominent at the turn. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. JACK DUGGAN (2) finished seventh over 1m1f at Rosehill at his most recent appearance on August 31. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. XTRA APPROVAL (9) showed early speed from a good draw last time and raced on speed before drawing clear to score by 1.2 lengths over 7½f at Port Macquarie. One of the main contenders. BOLD HOI HO (7) finished second last start over 7f at Grafton, beaten one length. Will benefit from that outing. Nicely placed to fill a top-three spot again.
