MISSILE DEFENCE (1) closed off strongly last start to get up for second, beaten a nose, over 6½f at Hawkesbury when coming back from a lay-off. Will drift back but wind up late. Will be tough to stop. VIESTE (6) returned from a lay-off two-and-a-half weeks ago when she was beaten 3.5 lengths into seventh over 6f at Wyong. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time. BRAZIL (4) was far from disgraced when second last start over 1m at Newcastle, beaten 2.25 lengths after he made late ground. That followed a win at this track the start prior. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. FRENCH RULER (2) was second up last start and went close, beaten a neck into second at Randwick over 6f. Should be nearing his peak at this stage of the campaign.
