SMART RETURN (7) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fourth, beaten 0.6 lengths, over 5½f at Ararat after she was in contention on the bend. Will strip fitter and is ready to win. FROSE (6) made it two wins in a row last time out when she scored by 0.8 lengths over 5f at Colac. Winning rider Zoe Waller retains the mount. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role. ZALINI (11) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when she was always well out of her ground over 5½f at Naracoorte, beaten 3.5 lengths into fourth. This looks a sterner test than last time but on her best form she is right in contention. GOTTANUFF (1) has not appeared since he finished 11th over 5½f at Bendigo on February 11. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
