GIOVANNINO (1) was unwanted in betting last start but performed beyond expectations when beaten 0.8 lengths into fourth over 1m1/2f at Ellis Park (Turf). Drawn to enjoy a nice trail just off the pace. Will prove tough to beat. ZACH (4) missed the placings two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1m at this track, beaten 2.25 lengths. Has the class to take this out. HEEDING (7) made a nice return last time out to finish third and beaten only half a length over this course and distance. Has a win and two minor placings at this journey from four starts and has to be respected. DIRBAS (9) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 1m at this track, beaten 2.25 lengths into fourth. Suitably placed so can turn things around.
