LAZLO (1) debuted eight days ago when he finished eighth over 1m at Kentucky (Turf), beaten 12 lengths. Improvement to come and the addition of blinkers is a positive sign. BAYTOWN BEATLE (7) is going well with two minor placings from three starts this prep. Was always up in the leading division and finished 3 lengths from the winner in third at the latest outing over 1m at this track (Dirt). Taking on a better line-up this time but he cannot be underestimated. AMERICAN VISION (3) was never in contention on debut last time out over 1m1/2f at Ellis Park (Turf), finishing 11th and beaten 21 lengths. Likely to improve on that last effort. CAPT'N PIKE (6) is a two-start maiden who placed on debut then could only manage eighth last start, beaten 16 lengths over 1m at this track (Dirt). Backmarker who gets home hard. Has plenty to offer.
