ANOTHER GIFT (16) finds it hard to win with just one success from 24 starts. Did a good job last start to finish second over 1m at Walgett, beaten 6 lengths. Tackling a deeper field this time but he is up to the task. MELLENCAMP (15) showed early speed from an outside draw last time then tired over the final stages to finish tenth, beaten 5.5 lengths, over 6½f at Scone. Expected to measure up here. Worth another try. NORMAN (2) has been in the mix without winning, the latest offering a third over 7f at Talmoi. Expected to feature in the finish. CHOICE WITNESS (6) scored in a at Muswellbrook but was below her best last time when fifth over 6½f at Scone. Finds a nice race and can atone.
