SAMARITANO (6) improved sharply on his eighth two starts back at Tampa Bay Downs (Turf) with a win over 1m1/4f at this track (Synthetic) five weeks ago, getting home by 0.3 lengths after being in contention on the turn. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose. MANNIX (5) doesn't win out of turn, scoring just two times from 21 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fifth over 1m at this track, beaten 7 lengths. Likely contender with strong prospects. GENTLEMAN GERRY (4) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a lay-off on February 9 finishing seventh and beaten 7 lengths over 1m1/4f at this track (Synthetic). Worth plenty of thought. MIDWAY MISCHIEF (1) was out of the money two runs back when fresh from a lay-off then again missed the frame last start over 1m1/4f at this track, beaten 6 lengths into fifth. Has his share of ability and is a top-three prospect.
