ZANTHAR (6) was sent out favourite last start and got the job done by one length over 5¾f on turf at Turffontein Standside. First try on synthetic. Sure to be prominent again. MAR DEL PLATA (2) finished fourth last time out over 6f at Scottsville, beaten 4 lengths. Should be in the finish. PREEMPTIVE STRIKE (7) ran fourth at his latest appearance over 7f at this track, finishing 1.4 lengths from the winner. Has a solid record here including four wins and 10 minor placings from 24 outings. Can give this a shake. SOHO STAR (4) back from a brief lay-off and tackles a synthetic track for the first time. Opened last prep with a second at Scottsville over 6f. Expected to return with a bold run.
