The progressive MANXMAN (7) went down narrowly over 1m6f here on first outing following eight months off. Stepping back up to 2m will suit. Might return to winning ways. MAXIDENT (6) showed up well finishing third over course and distance and could be in the mix. Fourth-placed PLUS POINT (9) was probably a touch below-par that day. Cannot be ruled out having run well managing a third at Musselburgh prior. HAVAILA (10) finished runner-up tackling that track and trip handicap. Respect racing from foot of the weights. ROBERT JOHNSON (4) is also considered in this competitive staying handicap.
