MINTO'S POWER (1) resumed from a lay-off last start with a sound third over 5¼f at this track after being in the firing line on the bend. Nicely placed to take this out. PEARL IN HAY (8) is close to breaking through, last start finishing just a head away in second over 6f at this track after being in contention all the way. Wide draw and will need a good steer from. Suitably placed so anticipating another big run. LILICA EBET (7) is a five-year-old mare who is having her first run for the John Smerdon stable. Hasn't raced since finishing sixth at Cranbourne eight months ago. Ran sixth in a trial over 5f at Gold Coast and looks nicely placed. Leading prospect. ANOTHERLOVELYDAY (4) was in contention on the turn and finished third last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 6f at this track, beaten 2.5 lengths. Will strip fitter this time. Must be respected.
