RUSSIAN SUMMER (1) is progressing well this campaign. Opened with a sixth at Kilmore two starts back then got the job done by 0.8 lengths last time out over 6½f at Bendigo. Has his share of talent. Hard to beat again in this suitable race. SPORTS CHOICE (14) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 6f at Edenhope after being in the firing line all the way. Backmarker who gets home hard. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. FUGACITY (5) showed good early speed then led into the straight last start before fighting on to finish second, beaten 0.8 lengths, over 6f at Ballarat. Bold showing expected. POWER CABLE (8) has been freshened since finishing ninth over 1m at Kilmore. Fitness level should be good following a subsequent Cranbourne trial. Should be thereabouts.
