BACK BAYOU (3) finished sixth two runs back at Delta Downs (Dirt) then improved last time out to score by 3.5 lengths after being prominent at the corner over 6f at this track (Dirt). Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he can win again. NORTHWIND (4) pushed forward and went on to record a determined win last start by 1.3 lengths over 1m at this track (Dirt). Meeting a deeper field this time but he is good enough to play a major role. GRAN CHICO (6) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 17 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fourth over 6f at this track, beaten 4 lengths. Likely contender with strong prospects. JUST PLAIN ORNERY (2) returned from a lay-off four weeks ago when he was beaten 5 lengths into sixth over 6f at this track. Strips fitter and should be thereabouts.
