MAWKEB (1) has recorded two minor placings from three starts this campaign, the latest when second as a well-fancied conveyance over 1m at Hamilton. Will be tough to beat. XTRA STORMY (5) got the prize two runs ago at Ararat. Not as effective last time out when ninth over 7f58yards at Kyneton, beaten 7 lengths after being in the firing line on the bend. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. HYDROGEN POWER (6) was in the firing line on the turn and finished second last time over 1m at Seymour, beaten 1.3 lengths. Has the ability to take this out. TRACK PATCHER (7) was prominent at the turn and finished third last start over 1m3/4f at Geelong, beaten 3.5 lengths. Should be peaking. Placed to advantage so expect another forward showing.
