ESPRIT DU JOUR (9) did a fair job on debut last time out, finishing 1.5 lengths from the winner in second over 6f at this track. Can get off the mark this time. SER JOH (3) is a locally trained maiden galloper who hasn't raced since finishing 6 lengths back in seventh over 6f at this track six months ago. Winner of a recent trial. Can feature in the finish. MERCIAN (1) is back after a break of six months. At the last run before the layoff he finished 11th over 6f at this track. Looks ready to run following a minor placing in a recent Eagle Farm trial. Has ability and must be included in calculations.
