STRIKING PLAINS (8) has had two runs since a break, the latest a ninth over 6f at Doomben, beaten 3 lengths. Has a strong record at the third run in so he looks very hard to beat. LOVEWILLCOMELATER (11) started favourite last time over 6f at this track but could only manage fifth after he was well back on straightening. Won at his only start at this longer journey. One of the main contenders. ZAKIYYA (13) is ticking along okay with two runs this time in. Improved last time out when second, beaten 1.75 lengths, at Doomben over 6¾f. Expected to run well again. STARZAM (2) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Murwillumbah but couldn't back it up last start when 13th, beaten 13 lengths, over 7f at this track. Open to improvement and should be about the money.
